Wings of Hope

10:54 PM Wed, Aug 13, 2008 |

The homecoming for 26 year old Justin Larson, the med student from Richmond Heights who was injured in a fall at Shea Stadium, was possible thanks to an organization that is very unique.
The Wings of Hope, donated a plane to fly Justin from New York to Chesterfield; a flight that took 6 hours and has now enabled him to be in Barnes Hospital, close to family and friends.
Wings of Hope got started in 1962 and has used aircraft for humanitarian missions all over the world. As a not for profit group, they rely on the donations of local companies and private donors and are headquartered in a hangar at Spirit Airport.
In this case, they simply decided to help a local St. Louis man and they did it admirably.
