AB Websites

10:37 PM Thu, Jun 12, 2008 |

There are actually two websites out there getting attention on the proposdd AB takeover. The saveab.com is the one based here in St. Louis. Savebudweiser.com is another site that has been operating out of Florida.
Both sites are drumming up opposition to the takeover with online petitions. And it is remarkable how passionate people are about this.
The question is, can it work and change the course of events? Some are talking about boycotts and demonstrations if the deal goes through. It's hard to imagine a day when people here in St. Louis would turn their loyalty to AB completely around. But just talking about these things shows how important this is to people.

Matt:Why would the takeover have a bearing on changing the name of the stadium. A-B has no monetary interest in the Cardinals or the stadium, unless the "city fathers" are lying again. The stadium is owned by the Cards and the taxpayers, and was named after Gussie as a tribute. The name Bush is not copywrited by A-B, but is an old family name shared by thousands, including our current and past President of the United States. They could hire anyone named Bush and name the stadium after them. Sounds like typical media, trying to stir things up. The ultimate decision to sell will be up to the shareholders to decide and not the pot bellied beer drinkers sitting around the bars. Has anybody talked to Warren Buffet to get his feelings about the selling of the brewery?

THE TAKOVER OF AB BY A FOREIGN CO WILL HAVE ANEGATIVE IMFACT OF A LARGE PART OF THE US. INBEV HAS A REPUTATION AS A COST CUTTER.THIS COULD BE A PROBLEM FOR AB SUPPLIERS, EMPLOYEES AND A POTENTISL LOSS OF BENIFITS FOR RETIRED AB PEOPLE.
