ANHEUSER BUSCH BEING BOUGHT?

2:32 PM Fri, May 23, 2008 |

This is a rare instance in news. We usually are not in the business of "rumors."
But this "talk" is causing the price of Anheuser Busch stock to increase dramatically. One share increasing by about $5 dollars in about one day.
Our News 4 Financial Analyst, Bob Hardcastle says remember it is a rumor, nothing more. It is not based in fact. And neither of the primary players is talking. No comment from Anheuser Busch. And no comment from In-Bev, the largest brewery in the world.
The "talk" among financial experts is that In-Bev is offering to buy AB for about $46 Billion dollars.
Bob Hardcastle is quick to point out that this is not a David and Goliath situation. It is a
Goliath and Goliath. This is the number one brewery in the world --possibly buying the number one brewery in the United States.
And you may want to keep in mind that it also involves Warren Buffet, who is considered the financial guru in America. Buffett. His company -- Berkshire Hathoway --sells for about one hundred and 10 thousand dollars per share. Buffett holds the largest amount of A.B. stock , outside of St. Louis. It is reported Buffett owns 35 point 6 Million shares of AB stock.
But the most important issue is how -- if this is true-- it could impact the St. Louis Community.
Hardcastle says others who may be concerned are the Charities, which receive funds from the philanthropy of the brewery. Distributorships which sell A.B. products.
Hardcastle stresses, in his opinion, the brewery will remain in St. Louis, workers will keep their jobs, and there will be no major change for the city or the workforce which depends on it.

And then again remember --- since this is a "rumor" --not founded in fact--- it could just all go away.
