Andre Mathis not only got two awards for his actions in saving an 8 year old girl from an attempted attack and abduction. He also got gift certificates to the local Applebees and the Caseyville Holiday Inn. But the one thing this unemployed father needs is a job. Andre tells me he is trained as a cook, but he's willing to try any opportunity.
Mayor Mark Jackson said we need more citizens like Andre and certainly, his quick and responsible action seems to have earned him a chance at an opportunity.
