It's hard to believe almost a year has passed since 57 year old lawyer Ernest Brasier was killed. He was working at a colleagues computer in his Clayton office when the killer simply walked up behind him and shot him in the back of his head with a small caliber gun at close range. Why? Police seem to have an idea. And until 7pm December 19th 50 thousand dollars is the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Police say it's a substancial sum, all they need is the piece of the puzzle... a small bit of information, to help them make the arrest. I was assigned this story today, and met Brasier's widow. The story is so difficult, he left behind three children entering adulthood. His widow Pat Holtmeier tells me she has so many questions about the case, and feels the law firm has not been as forthcoming as it should be. She says Ernie didn't have any enemies, but she sometimes worried when he didn't talk about his work concerns at home. I talked to Clayton police and you get the idea they know who they want for this case. The law firm declined our request for an interview, why? It's hard to say. Let's hope the reward brings the puzzle piece police need. |
