To Pursue or Not to Pursue

Mother of 11: Sadie Perkins

I meet with one of Sadie Perkins' daughters today following the news of her mother's death.

According to police, the 71 year old died early Friday morning in a car accident following a police purist.

Perkins' daughter, Donna, told me that her mother was on her way to a local casino with her close friends, when trying to get away from police 27 year old Thomas Williams hit the SUV she was in.

Looking back on her death Donna questions why the police chased Williams.

She wishes that the police would have not followed him because in Donna words " Let him go, eventually they would get caught. "

In his officer's defense Chief Joe Mokwa says the pursuit was justified. What do you think?

well, i agree with Donna. My aunt (Pam Schmidt) was in the car with Sadie at the time of the accident. She has also just past away from this crash. She died around 7:15am Saturday morning at SLU Hospital.

It is a tragedy that two innocent people were killed. These people were not killed by the police but by a ruthless thug that has no respect for anyone. To these thugs life has no meaning or value. What a shame. Let's not blame anyone but the one responsible for their actions. We need to teach respect.
