Body Worlds 3 uses a process called plastination to take human remains and turn them into something that doesn't rot. When you visit the exhibit, if you visit the exhibit, you'll hear the words polymers and all kinds of fancy science terms to explain how it's done. Morality aside, the science behind making the exhibit happen is astounding. Many people don't think human remains should be used as a display. Others see Body Worlds as a great way to teach anatomy. As a reporter I'm supposed to be objective, so I'm staying out of this one. What I found fascinating is the process to make this all happen. Somehow someone figured out how to turn something living into something plastic. If this even remotely excites you, there is a thick book at the exhibit to read that explains the process. Even more bizarre, interesting, offbeat... there are donation forms if you want to become a plastinate in the afterlife. |
