Much to do about a Fence

5:42 PM Fri, Sep 21, 2007 |

Ryan Hunt contacted News Four looking for help; two years ago he put up a fence using surveyor Charles Haskins measurements. In the end he found out that the numbers were wrong and the fence on his neighbor’s property. That’s when the neighbor, Verna Zellers, filed a lawsuit to get the fence moved, damages, and lawyer fees. Eventually surveyor Haskins agreed he was at fault and would take care of everything. Sigh. Not too fast. Months later Haskins passed away along and as Hunt quickly found out so did the hope he would move the fence and a pay fees. This afternoon I spoke with Haskins’ attorney John Borbonus. He told me that right now there is nothing anyone can do because Haskins is dead. Basically, the Hunts may have to move the fence and pay the fees to their neighbor because Haskins is not around to do it. I tried to get a hold of the neighbors but no one was home. Well have to see where this story takes us from here.
