It took my photographer and I an hour and a half to get to Potosi. Once we were there we quickly found out the talk of the town was about the 15th annual Demolition Derby. As anyone could imagine there was mixed reaction to the derby on Sunday afternoon. It was less than 24 hours since a car drove into the stands and injured four spectators. Some in the town were calling for improved safety measures. While others thought the accident wasn't a big deal since no one suffered life threatening injuries. The Potosi Fire department depends heavily on money from the derby, so it will be interesting to see if this event will continue next year.
