Sen. McCaskill Meeting with Chrysler Execs, News 4 Camped Outside

U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill is inside Chrysler's plant in Fenton meeting with the company's government relations officials.

A spokesperson for McCaskill tells News 4, "Senator McCaskill requested a meeting with Chrysler executives to hear why Chrysler is shutting down their St. Louis plants and to ask additional, related questions."

The Last Pick Up

At 11 am Thurdsay the last Dodge Ram pick up rolled off the assembly line at the Fenton plant. Left over parts are being shipped to Mexico where Chrysler will continue to make the Ram.
Things may come to a head on Friday when Senator McCaskill and union officials confront Chrysler execs at the Fenton north plant.

Mearl J. Justice has been in law enforcement for 56 years. And he says for 20 of those years, the problem of overcrowding has existed. The capacity on the jail in St. Clair County is 330. Right now, their population stands at 391. That means they have 61 more prisonersthan it was designed to hold . And that is after he authorized the release of 46 prisoners, in the last 24 hours.
