So I've done some soul searching over the last few weeks, as I get ready for my final day on the morning news this Friday. I decided to crunch some numbers to figure out how much of my life was dedicated to this morning gig over 13 years. In the course of doing that I realized what it was all about:
DAYS ON THE DESK: 3,141
HOURS ON THE AIR: 6,282
MINUTES ON THE AIR: 376,920
ESTIMATED POTS OF COFFEE: 6,000

This is a WRONG move. Again we love Virginia, but Marc is a news anchor. Happy to hear he will still be with channel 4 at 5 and 6. But what is going to happen to the morning news? It will be VERY tough to replace Marc. Good luck with trying. Do not be surprise when you loose views.

Marc: I have watched the changes over the years on the News4 anchor desk since moving to St. Louis in the mid-1990's. When I first moved here, I tried all the morning shows - channels 2,4&5. When I found you, I was instantly comfortable. You are a true professional, delivering each story with the respect and seriousness it deserves. When people watch you, they know you are a trustworthy person. Add to that the fact that you can also have fun with a story when appropriate. In my book that makes you the perfect anchor. I enjoy the rest of the team (miss Paul), Virginia has blossomed as an anchor, which I'm sure has much to do with you there to guide her. But the management of News4 is going to regret this move. You deserve that anchor more than the others I have heard mentioned. I think I will just get my morning news on the radio or online...the other a.m. news shows come across as arrogant or aimed at the 20-somethings. Hopefully, once Channel 4 sees its morning ratings drop off, as I am sure they will (no disrespect intended to the other members), the management will swallow their egos and get you back to where you belong...as one of OUR morning anchors! I cannot imagine what management at KMOV is thinking. They have the perfect team in the morning. I think they tried a new look (Awake), which I think failed miserably. Matt and Virginia are great, but it will be like a piece missing from the puzzle without you ... May have to give another morning show a try now.

Our family will continue to enjoy your reporting and voice...just a little later in the day! Channel 4 has some big shoes to fill!
