No one has ever thrown me a surprise party in my life but someone did Saturday- in a huge way.
You see, I have a co-bride. Meaning, there will be a double wedding ceremony. My close friend Christy and I are marrying brothers, the guys have a huge famiy, so she asked, "Why not have one big party?"
Christy already had the venue and the date and she invited us to be in on it too. Two ceremonies, one big reception. NOW WHAT KIND OF GIRL SHARES HER WEDDING???? Christy. Because this is my second marriage, I didn't want to ask people to come to a shower or have a bachlorette party. Christy's shower was Saturday. She'd been planning it for weeks and while I was sitting next to her recording who gave her what..in walks Bama friend Kelly and some of my closest friends. Then my fiance Jason starts hauling in all these presents that were hidden by the guests who were there for Christy and secretly for me! I lost it. Could not stop crying. I have never felt surrounded by so many close friends and caring people.
I won't go into details, but Christy has a lot on her plate in addition to the wedding, for her to find the time to not only share her party but plan it too..is truly incredible! So in 5 1/2 weeks I will not only get an amazing husband but a wonderful sister! 7 CommentsLeave a comment |

I work at the Webster Kirkwood Times, and while I was reading your story, the phone rang! I was so choked up, I could hardly say "Good Afternoon, Times Newspapers" without my voice cracking!!!

WOW!!! How does one respond to that. All I can say is you are soooooo very worth it!!!! I cannot imagine going through all of this with anyone else. You are an amazing woman. Thank you for the recognition. I don't feel worthy. I am honored to be going through this process with you. I am also very lucky to be marrying my best friend and gaining the most amazing sister-in-law!!!! I think the world of you Virginia and I appreciate your friendship way more than you know. I have been watching the channel 4 morning news for 5 years, I kind of miss the on location show you had. I met you once in Soulard, a few years ago, told you that your morning show was good because you guys are funny. I like the chemistry between the four morning personalities. Anyway, you and your friends where nice to me, and I hope you have many more happy moments in your future, and hopefully you'll get used to them, and won't cry everytime, just sometimes. I like to think I'm a good judge of character, and with that I'll say, I think you deserve them. Congratulations

Hey Virginia long time no see!!! I was telling one of our interns about you. I was telling her how you and stayed at the station until the sun came up editing one of your pkgs at FOX6!!! I had to google you and see what you have been up too. I just want to say congradulations on your wedding coming up!!! Please keep in touch and tell me all about St. Louis!!!

Congratulations! My husband and I are huge fans of the show. We watch you every morning as we get ready together in the bathroom. After you announced your engagement, I checked the site and we were quite suprised when we recognized your fiance! We went to college with Jason. My dad works at the wedding venue - you have chosen a beautiful place! We wish you a wonderful day - and hey, who knows, we may stop by to see if we can catch a glimpse of you two.
