I must say, I was quite surprised when the guys hit the runway. I know St Louis is a little behind the west coast when it comes to the latest trends and fads, but WOW. I couldn't be happier for the Tigers of Mizzou! Wow, did that blow my bracket. I hope they bring home a National Championship, but there are still some major hurdles to clear. I still don't think ... The St. Louis firefighter auction was a hit. A thousand women showed up to bid on the 18 bachelors and Chief Dennis Jenkerson told me they raised almost $60,000 for Backstoppers and the Children's Burn Hospital. I also got to be the co auctioneer with two very cool girls. April Simpson and Heidi Glaus.
I'm a huge fan of "24", and have to tell you that today I'm feeling like the luckiest guy in St. Louis this St. Patrick's Day. On Saturday night I went to Diablo McGee's in South County to listen to an Irish band named the "Irish Aires". A few minutes in to their second set, I noticed a very familiar face in the crowd...actually performing a perfectly executed Irish dance. It didn't take long to figure out it was Annie W... I ran the 5 mile St. Pat's Run without stopping. Of course I was slow as all get out. It was fun. See, we're happy.
I am running the five mile run downtown tomorrow. Usually, I am pretty prepared. This time-not so much. I've been running about three miles twice a week. I am determined to go the entire five miles without stopping. Besides, it's not like we have to go up steep hills or run in the hot sun. I am looking so forward to it. I had a blast last year. Please. How many runs have free beer at the finish line? Look for me. I will be wear... Meet Saban. My future running partner. We just got him this week from a great family in Augusta.
