Welcome to the future of broadcasting...

11:19 AM Tue, Jan 29, 2008 |

Between YouTube and Google Video, there's not much you can't find online these days. The folks at KMOV.COM decided we should get in on the action, so they handed us this tiny little camera called a Flip Cam, and turned us loose. What you see below is the first attempt to shoot behind the scenes while we were actually on the air today with News 4 This Morning. Enjoy, and I look forward to some feedback on this!

Super Excited!

10:52 AM Tue, Jan 29, 2008 |
Virginia

Not only is it Mardi Gras on Saturday, I just found out that there is going to be an Alabama Signing Day party next week.
Bama freaks unite! It's at 7 next Thursday night at the Hotshots in Fenton.

Meanwhile, Matt Chambers is delivering a let down of a forcast. It sounds like there will be several inches of snow on the ground by the time Saturday gets here. Highs will be in the upper 30's. Let's hope Matthew can tweak that a litt...

Checking In

Virginia

I wanted to update you on the goals I set for the beginning of the year. I hit six miles on my run yesterday. I am very excited. I have six pounds to go to meet my 10 pounds by Mardi Gras resolution.
It feels so good to set goals and actually see them become a reality. I think coming on here and telling you what my plans are has made me more determined than ever.
I'm still working on the house selling but that's really out of my co...

Our Future Broadcasters

I can remember when I was 20 years old and sitting in my television production class at the University of Alabama 13 years ago.
Keisa Sharpe, the morning anchor of the ABC affiliate in Birmingham, came to talk to my class. I was so inspired by her.

I knew without a doubt that I wanted to do what she did and if...

pizza

When the moon's in the sky like a big pizza pie, that's a robbery?

Okay, those aren't exactly the lyrics for the classic tune, but the local case of the Dominos Pizza driver who lost his job for defending himself caught my attention. Two armed men tried to rob him, and he pulled out his own weapon and fought back.

First Week of the New Year

8:59 AM Fri, Jan 04, 2008 |
Virginia

The first week of the new year is almost over and so far we have survived the Highway 40 shutdown.
I'm am super excited and thankful for this next year. I think the presidential race is going to be one of the most interesting and crucial ever.
I think that my Alabama football team has a real chance to finish in the top 20 BCS standings with our new recruits.

My goals this year:
To grow spiritually. My father should b...

It's the Final Shutdown..

9:33 AM Wed, Jan 02, 2008 |
Virginia

Oh yes! It's really here. Interstate 64 or Highway 40 closed between 270 and 170 at midnight.
I just got off the air. We had a five hour special. No, the traffic isn't bad today but no one knew for sure what the impact would be. The real test will be next Monday when everyone is back at school and work.
We have two full years of major stretches of 40 being closed in St. Louis and let me tell you this newsroom is all over it. The bo...
