We had quite a mystery on our hands this morning, when all of South St. Louis seemed focused on finding an errant young bull. Sammy was making a break for freedom, after the early Thursday morning accident that broke his bondage inside a crowded tractor trailer. When he was finally spotted this morning, he h... One of the hottest morning radio shows in town these days belongs to none other than former KMOV reporter Jamie Allman, along with Crane Durham on 97.1 FM Talk. If you ever pay attention to the anchor set in the morning, you will see that I have an Alabama mug on set during football season and Marc has a University of Kentucky mug during BASKETBALL season. I had a great time in Houston.
Don't get me wrong - I love Chicago. But I've long said the place is "money intensive", and now they're proving me right again. The bureaucracy that is government is never designed to get smaller, which leads to the obvious conclusion that it must get BIGGER. So in this case they plan to take in out of the hide... WHAT IS THE COST OF CONVENIENCE? Today we reported ATM fees are going up to $3.00 at Bank of America. I think consumers need to rise up and say ENOUGH! I had a wonderful time with my mom. We did a little shopping and went to the St Louis Art Fair in Clayton. Of course we watched Bama whoop up on Vandy. And of course we went to La Russos. She insists that we go to dinner there every time she's in town. This weekend I am jetting off to Houston to see my best friend from grade school Suzanne and her husband Larry. I met Suzanne at summer camp when I was nine. We went to school together ... Like most St. Louisans...it sent a chill down my spine today when we were able to break the news that this baby was safe. Now it looks like this wasn't a carjacking to begin with, but rather someone inside the SUV who killed Ivory's father. What a sad situation for that baby, because her father had sole custody in the first... I am out of here for the next few days. My mom is visiting from Alabama. We are doing the usual mother daughter stuff: pedicures, shopping, and eating. There is a huge group of you out there who can call themselves a "Leg Head." You know who you are. The same people I see every time I go to hear the band Jake's Leg play. Jake's Leg is a Grateful Dead cover band that has been entertaining folks in St Louis for more than 30 years.
Okay, okay, so maybe it was a team that only won two games last year. but a win is a win and Alabama smoked Western Carolina on Saturday. Bama beat them 52 to 6. That's always a nice way to start the season. But Mr. $4 million-a-year Saban better have a lot more wins up his sleeve. After all, those Crimson Tide fans adore him so much, they are already naming there kids after him.
