Getting Back on Track

11:26 AM Tue, Jul 31, 2007 |
Virginia

I started back on my healthy lifestyle again today. I was so energetic and strong on Keath Hausher's workout plan. (He is our fitness expert on News 4 This Morning)

I fell back into my old habits a couple of months ago. Skipping workouts, eating the chocolate in the news director's office, making frequent trips to ice cream shops, I could go on and on. I feel nasty. I have also gained at least 10 pounds.

But it is not just abou...

TO CHASE OR NOT?

The fatal crash of two news helicopters this week in Phoenix is spurring some discussion in the business as to whether we should even cover car chases. This hits close to home because the fatal crash in Phoenix involved KTVK, our sister station in ...

Yadi, Yadi, Don't Be Snotty

Virginia

Yadier Molina is/was my favorite Cardinal. I know many women may find him "hot." I simply like his boyish face and the way he seems to be such a caring team mate. Like how he always touches the pitchers when he meets with them on the mound. He seems so sincere.

WAY TO GO, JOE!

11:58 AM Fri, Jul 27, 2007 |

marc & joe.JPG

I had a chance to interview one of the nicest guys in baseball today - Joe Garagiola. This picture's a little fuzzy, so let me apologize. Joe's got a new book out called "Just Play Ball", and it absolutely had tears falling from my eyes because of some of the funny stories he relates from his years ...

"First of its Kind" Debate

10:00 AM Tue, Jul 24, 2007 |
Virginia

What did you think about the "YouTube"-CNN debate last night? I found it terribly irritating. Sure, there were some blunt questions that received some pretty blunt answers but over all it was too much silly video.
Let's be honest, if it was so "internet savvy" then it should have had more interaction with internet users. The jackalopes from Tennessee who claimed to be hillbillies wanting to know if the candidates were jealous of Al Gore-...

One Armed Golfer

8:40 AM Mon, Jul 23, 2007 |
Virginia

Okay. This could get me in trouble. That is, if Steve Savard sees it.
I was at a cook out yesterday and met a man named Todd. Todd only has one operable arm. His right arm got caught in a conveyer belt several years ago and he had to have it reattached. I know. YIKES! As he says, "Better to have one arm that doesn't work, than no arm at all." Well, Todd apparently is really good at golf. I know several people he plays with and he often b...

The City

10:42 AM Wed, Jul 18, 2007 |
Virginia

My car was broken into last night. I live in the city and have never had a problem in the four years I have been here.
I had The Club on it and they didn't take anything, not my cd's, not my iPod. It was all in the console and they threw it all over the car, but didn't steal anything. Maybe they don't like my music. On the bright side, I wasn't in it when they bashed in the windows and I still have a car.
With that said, can I tell...

Friends

9:15 AM Mon, Jul 16, 2007 |
Virginia

Hope you all had a good weekend. I had a low key one in St Louis. It's all about the company though no matter where you are. And these days the company is the best I have ever had.
I have to be honest I have been here four years and it wasn't easy making friends. First of all, this schedule of getting up at 2:40 in the morning makes it difficult. When I first got here I just wanted to sleep. Second, St Louis is a lot like my hometown of ...

First Trip to the Lake

8:30 AM Tue, Jul 10, 2007 |
Virginia

I have been here for four years and had never been to the Lake of the Ozarks until this weekend. Marc talks about it all the time. Matt talks about his trips there all the time. I had never been. Well, now I am part of the cool club.
I took my first trip there and had a blast thanks to my friends Bob and Linnsie Soutier.

Lake of the Ozarks

8:30 AM Tue, Jul 10, 2007 |

boating_family.jpeg

If you watch at all, you know I love spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Generally, there are some pretty negative sterotypes about "the Lake", and I just have to set a few things straight:

- Yes, sometimes the lake is pretty busy, but at it's busiest I have NEVER been unab...

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING

10:04 AM Tue, Jul 03, 2007 |

My cable problems have been well documented here, including my disgust at being without internet service for 17 days last month. I have now switched companies, and use DSL. Never through my entire ordeal did the company acknowledge how poorly I was treated.

Enter Meteorologist Matt Chambers - who has had NO cable problems recently - and this card he received in the mail yesterday:

chartercard...
