..and I've got a feeling, she's not the only one.

Where do you stand on the Archbishop Burke/Sheryl Crow controversy? I'll admit to being surprised about the feedback we've received on our web poll Click here to vote in the KMOV Web Poll >> Continue reading: "All I Want To Do Is Have Some Fun..."

WIPEOUT!

Who gives a sheet? Sheryl Crow, apparently. She posted an original idea on her website recently, to save the world by limiting your toilet paper use to no more than 3 SHEETS per sitting. Comedians around the world had a field day with that one. Now, surprisingly, Sheryl says she was just kidding: >> Continue reading: WIPEOUT!

Trip to T-Town

Virginia

Just got back from Tuscaloosa. I went to the University's A-Day game. It's the scrimmage game held on Alumni Day. It was crazy. The new coach who is getting paid $4 million a year brought in 92,000 fans. That's a national record for a spring game. Alabama's team has been awful the last several years. Our last good year was in 1992. Coach Nick Saban is supposed to rejuvinate the players and the fans. We'll see. I have faith.
This was my f...

DID WE CROSS THE LINE?

The debate is raging on whether or not NBC - and for that matter all the rest of the media - should have released videos and pictures of Cho Seung-Hui. For NBC's part...reports say they struggled with the decision: Network Debated ...

Correction

I had the Virginia Tech killer in my "What's Hot on the Web" today. I was reporting on the blogs out there commenting on what was seen on his arm. The words Ax Ismail were written on his arm.
One theory is that he was referring to the son of Abraham. Ishmael. I mispoke and said he was the son whom Abraham almost sacrificed. That was Isaac. Ishmael was his son with his wife's handmaiden. I got the story from a newspaper report on the web ...

Busy Weekend

I had a fun weekend in St. Louis. Saturday night I got to attend KMOV's Dinner with Stars. It's a fundraising event for Variety St Louis.
Vanessa Williams performed. She is even prettier in person. It was also fun hanging out with the bigwigs at the station. This is KMOV GM Allan Cohen and acting news director Genie Garner.

Friday the 13th

Virginia

It is so funny to me that people really do stay home on Friday the 13th because they are worried something bad will happen to them. In fact, I read that a study from England found that fewer people are on the highways on this day yet the number of patients in the hospital being treated after car accidents increases.

People are so focused on what can go wrong, they create bad situations. Ever noticed when you are down and think everythi...

A BLOW TO FREE SPEECH?

Okay folks, here's the harsh reality: Don Imus shouldn't have said what he said, but he's been saying things like this for 20 years. CBS executives who now seem "shocked" and appalled by Imus' comments are more "shocked" by the loss of ad revenue than by the words streaming out of hi...

Batter up!

I am so glad baseball season is here. I never followed baseball, didn't even know the game until I moved here 3 and half years ago. In Alabama it's all about the football. You might find some Braves fans but we just don't follow it.
So when I came here I decided to give it a chance. Figure out what all the buzz is about.
I love it. I get it. Now I miss it when it's gone. Not only do I like the sport itself, I like the way it transf...

BILLY GILLISPIE IS A WILDCAT!

gillispie
I'll be the first to admit Billy Gillispie was not on my radar as the next coach at the University of Kentucky. I've been following some great fan reaction to the Billy Donovan snub over the past two days on Catspause.com. Click here
UK is expected to make it official to...

WHAT DO THEY SAY ABOUT A BIG ORANGE?

Boeheim
Just ask a Kentucky fan. Usually, I've applied that saying to the University of Tennessee, but today Syracuse University tops the list. Jim Boeheim, SU's Head Basketball Coach, has seen fit to stick his sniffer where it's not welcome, as the University of Kentucky searches for a new coach. According to the Lexington Heral...
