...It smells like a World Series Victory!
DadandBr.JPG

I can't believe my luck, but I'm going to Game 5 tonight, which is actually Game 4, although it is technically Game 5. My son Brad is absolutely thrilled, as you can tell in this picture.

We went to the rain out on Wednesday, and he insisted on sitting in...

FALL BALL

Is Chris Carpenter amazing, or what?
CARP.bmp
Dominance is the only word for his performance last night. The question is why the national media paints the NL Champs as such underdogs? They've come through in a pinch every time they needed to this season. I believe last night was the boost they needed to wrap up this World ...

WHAT? YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME

Life is about losing. And winning. And sometimes, ending in a tie.
Dodgeball
Remember the controversy a few years ago when schools started banning dodgeball? Besides the fact that it can hurt if you get hit by the little red ball, there was concern about hurt feelings, feelings of inadequacy, and poor self esteem. I thoug...

Greetings from Destin

Virginia

Hello from Destin, Florida!
VIRGINIA BEACH.JPG
It is sunny and 80 degrees here. I just got back from a morning run on the beach and I am about to go for a bike ride with my mom. What a hard day. You would be surprised at how many Cardinal fans are down here. Or maybe not. I would be more surprised if I saw a b...

karr
There is a very disturbing interview with John Karr on CNN Watch the video on our website. If the media is willing to let this guy manipulate them like he did the prosecutor and police in Colorado, I guess we deserve whatever criticism is thrown our way. This guy is going to end up writing a bo...

All alone

10:37 AM Mon, Oct 16, 2006 |

It's very lonely on the anchor desk this week, with the very talented Virginia Kerr on vacation in FLORIDA!
Now, she told me she planned to blog on this site every day from her fancy phone/pda/mini-latptop thingamabob. Unfortunately, we've seen no evidence of that, so we may need to check in on her on the DESTIN CAM:
LIVE LOOK AT...

The Anticipation

Virginia

So I am actually sitting at home right now. It is 4:30 in the afternoon and I am supposed to be getting ready for my afternoon boot camp. I wish I could fast forward time by about three hours. I just want to watch the Cards play tonight in New York! I know this part of it. The big nerve racking moments of the first couple of innings during that Brewers game a couple of weeks ago, followed by the celebrations of the Cards taking the NLCS Divisi...

CARDINALS GO TO WORLD SERIES!!!

10:26 AM Mon, Oct 09, 2006 |

Okay, maybe that's a little premature. But that's basically the attitude NY has right now about the Mets. They seem to believe a trip to the World Series is a foregone conclusion!

Let me be the first to say - I am NOT a wagon jumper! I have always supported this team, even if I was a sk...

foley.bmp
The focus of every national newscast seems to be on this situation surrounding former Congressman Mark Foley. A couple of things that seem obvious to me are that Foley is the one who did wrong here, although the focus seems to be on everyone else. A variety of groups claim to have known about these allegations months ...

I enjoyed "INVINCIBLE" more than any movie I've seen since Star Wars III, so that should explain how cool I thought it was to meet the star of the movie Monday. No, not Mark Wahlberg. I'm talking about the man himself - Vince Papale. He did admit, in his South Philly accent, that he had to adjust to the fact the movie truly is a dramatization of the events in his life. For example, some things happened several years before his NFL tryout, not...
