It was such a good feeling to be able to report a happy ending to baby Abby's story this morning.
I'm not a mother, so I certainly cannot imagine what her mother was and is going through. But seeing mom, dad and baby together for the first time this morning really touched me... Stephanie Ochsenbine sitting there with her daughter and bandages on her neck. She could have easily died from those stab wounds and yet she managed to find the strength and carry her other one year old child to a nearby neighbor's house to report her baby missing. That is truly amazing.
We as journalists are supposed to remain objective and remove ourselves from the stories but believe me when the cameras aren't on us we shed tears and feel emotions like everybody else.
