July 2006 ArchivesI thought I knew Marc, Matt and Paul pretty well until Paul drops this bomb today. He was an aspiring actor in LA for more than a year. Not only was he trying to make it big he was pretty successful for the short time he was out there. He wrote an animated film and was the main fill-in for Ryan Seacrest and Danny Bonaduce on their radio shows. I saw the new movie World Trade Center yesterday. It comes out on August 9th but I caught a press screening. There are times in life when you suddenly feel like the oldest person in the room. Of course, on our morning team, I am! So yes, I was a bit offended when Cook started making fun of "Jorts" this morning - after I found out what they were. Jorts are "jean shorts", which I admittedly wear quite often. "What's wrong with jean shorts", I asked? "Nothing," says Cook, "except that only old men wear them." I remember making fun of my dad, who wore b... Paul Cook dropped a term that apparently Marc had never heard of: Jorts. Those are jean shorts, if you too have never heard of them. It's the combination of jeans and shorts into one word. I just discovered jorts this year myself. I knew what jean shorts were of course, but I didn't know that the hemmed style of denim wear was called jorts. We're getting lots of feedback on the new promotion for News 4 This Morning - the vast majority of it positive. I can tell you one thing - whether you like it or hate it - we had an absolute ball while we were taping it! Fortunately for you, we rolled tape on most of the outtakes, and plan to show some of them on the air in the coming weeks. I'll let you know here, and we'll announce it on the show.
