November 2005 ArchivesI was really happy I'd just filled up this morning when I saw those pump prices! My usual gas station had increased prices 20-cents overnight. If you're like me, you were probably starting to relax a little bit, and expected to prices to continue to fall. There is a slight shortage of reformulated gas right now, which may explain the increase. But oil is under $55 a barrel! Maybe, just maybe, they're gearing up for the heavy holiday travel... It was great to spend time with my family in Houston for the Thanksgiving holiday. I would share some pictures, but you'd never look at me the same again if you saw the pictures of me attacking the turkey. I hope you all had a fantastic time with your family and friends as well. I actually thought of Paul over the holiday...hear me out!!! He was a bit nervous about going up in the chopper to cover all of the shoppers the day after Than... We were movin' on up this morning with Marla Gibbs in the studio! What a sweet person, in a addition to being an incredibly talented singer. She's got her first CD out, and of course, we Jefferson's fans had to get a picture: Also, if you've ever wondered what Matt does when he's not on camera.... I know lots of changes are taking place with the Cardinals, including today's firing of Wayne Hagin. This is a small business, and I only had the chance to meet Wayne one time. But everything I've heard is that he just couldn't be a nicer guy, and and I hate this didn't work out for him. Joe Buck is quoted in Post today as saying "I thought Wayne did a great job and I thought he did a great job in a tough situation, taking over for my dad." ... I am absolutely thrilled about this warm weather - for golfers it's a dream come true. Now if I can only find time to get to the course! I found a great t-shirt while covering the demolition of Busch Stadium: I know Richelle mentioned the time-lapse of the new Busch Stadium, but it is worth taking a look at. I spent the morning outside the old stadium, and I have to admit I did see many people snapping last minute photo's. But I came across at least one fan who admitted off-camera "Just get it done already! Let's move on!" I know there must me many more downtown commuters who feel the same way. The construction is causing a number of traffic pr... November 7, 2005 If you missed the time lapse video of the construction of the new Busch Stadium, be sure to check it out. Those guys (and gals) have made tremendous progress in a short period of time and they're about to pick up the pace even more. So the walls start coming down ... Marc and the boys (Matt and Paul) are so excited about the unseasonably warm temps because they can sneak in a round of golf before the warm weather is gone for good. I'm not much of a golfer so I won't be joining them for tee time tomorrow. I've been working on this story that will air this week. It's about getting freebies on the internet. It's easier than you think to get at least a sample size of just about everything that would b... |
