The $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is commonly referred to as the federal stimulus plan. Today, OMB Watch, a group promoting government transparency and accountability, praised the "timely release" of new data, but critics say the government's website does a poor job of helping us track the spending.

States have their own websites too. Missouri and Illinois give you the opportunity to follow some of the money too. There's no question that these websites fail to tell the whole story, but it will give you some insight into the process and the way money is being spent.
