We received a strong response to our MODOT story.

The comments posted on my blog are strongly against how I reported on the conference. The phone calls to our tipline, and e-mails sent directly to me strongly support the way I reported the story.

One lady said the conference "really ticks me off. I couldn't even afford a trip downtown."

Imagine being paid to take a scenic cruise on a beautiful lake with your family. It would only be a small part of a three day vacation in a popular tourist destination. You could even use valet parking at the fancy hotel where you slept for two nights.

Did you see the story about the woman in Florida who was arrested for repeatedly calling 911 because a McDonalds restaurant got her order wrong. She claimed, after ordered a 10 piece Chicken McNugget meal, the restaurant told her they were out of McNuggets. According to the police report, the woman got angry because the restaurant would only offer her a substitute and wouldn't refund her money.
