Can I just say that my 2 1/2 year old keeps me on my toes? Thursday morning he locked me out of the house. It's the second time he's done it in as many months. I had just walked out to the mailbox, leaving Drew inside the house and Sean hanging out in his swing. As I was walking up to the door I heard a click and realized Drew had just set the deadbolt.
We won the battle of the binky! Much to our surprise it was much easier than we expected to convince Drew that he did not need a binky at bedtime. We had been warning him for about a week that on Wednesday night he would not get a binky. When that night rolled around he asked for it, but seemed to understand when we told him he was a big boy and didn't need one now. We were prepared to let him cry and scream himself to sleep, but ... It's time. Our 2 1/2 year old has got to lose his pacifier. I'm a little embarrassed to even admit it, but Drew still sleeps with a binky. Around the age of 1 we dropped the binky at naps... and that was pretty easy. But getting rid of the binky at night is going to be a whole different story. We were going to try several times but things just kept coming up. We were going out of town. I became pregnant with Sean and wanted Drew ... |
