Father's Day is this weekend, and honestly, I have no clue what to get my husband. This is Ryan's (my husband) first official Father's Day. I was pregnant last year on this holiday, so I got him something small. But this year, it's the real deal! Ryan is really a dad this year, and he is an awesome one!!! So what do you buy the first-time super dad? I don't know...really, I don't! He wants a new guitar pedal. Really? How sentimental is that? Happy first Father's Day, honey, here's your guitar pedal. I should just get it for him, because I know that's what he really wants and he would be thrilled to get it. But I guess the woman in me wants to get him something memorable, something sweet, something to mark this milestone in our lives. What should I do? I don't have much time so bring on the suggestions, and quick! By the way, if you have any ideas as to what I should get my dad...I'll take those too! Yes, I'm a procrastinator. A couple days out and I have no gifts for 2 of the most important men in my life and no clue what to get! Here's a sneak peek at Jude's Father's Day outfit Here's me and my boys. Jude loves his daddy! 3 CommentsLeave a comment |

Afton,
So I decided on getting Caiden's dad (Christopher)a necklace. I know it sounds stupid but I think he will love it! I found a plain silver dog tag necklace and had Caiden's name, birthday, and height/weight at birth engraved on it. (This is also his first Father's Day) I was going to put Christopher's same info on the back but I left it blank so when we try for the next baby I can put their info on the other side. I went to St. Clair Square Mall in Fairview Heights, IL to have it done (The store is under the food court) and the guy was very nice and had it ready in about 2 hours for me! This is not extremly expensive so if you wanted to get Ryan the pedal and this it would be a great combo. (I told some of the guys that Christopher works with about this and they all said they would love to have something like this!) Good luck!
The main thing is not to do something last minute. Father's day comes the same time every year. Women want men to remember all the little things and special occasions, etc but never reciprocate.
My wife is a horrible gift giver. After 17 plus years each holiday is still a major disappointment.
Everytime she asks what I would like I tell her and everytime the holiday comes around I get something last minute, crappy and something I cant use.
Do your husband a favor and listen to him when he gives you a hint, or a clue. Write it down, use your cell phone to take a picture of the item. The go back and get it a few weeks before the occasion.
He will appreciate the time you took above anything.
