May 2009 ArchivesI know this is a little belated, but I hope everyone had a fun and safe Memorial Day. Ours was busy, as every holiday is. After I got off work here at the station, my husband, my son Jude and I hit the first of the 2 BBQ's we had to go to. We went to my mother-in-laws first where Jude got to play with his cousin Rowan. Rowan will turn 1 next month so he's about 3 1/2 months older than Jude. It's so fun to see the boys playing together ... Last week I told you that my 7-month-old son Jude is crawling. As people would come and go in and out of the newsroom this week, you could hear them ask, "did they find him yet?" Well...it happened! I came into work this morning ... Emotions and news don't always mix well. Being in the media, we are supposed to stay professional and unbiased even in the face of tragic stories. And while on camera we cover these stories with a professional tone, here in the newsroom, everyone is sad to be covering stories that deal with families being torn apart. It's pretty tough to keep your feelings tucked away when you're writing about the events that we are following today. Especially... |
