I was watching the Early Show this morning and saw a story about several baby products that are being recalled. The one that caught my eye first was a crib recall. This brand of cribs is being recalled because the plastic connector on the drop rail side of the crib can separate from the rest of the crib and the baby can fall in between the drop side and the mattress and suffocate. >> Continue reading: Cribs, inflatable baby floats recalled This past weekend was my birthday and my husband Ryan planned a night out to celebrate. He wanted to take me out to dinner and then birthday shopping. Who could ask for more? Instead of making it a celebration for just the two of us, I thought it would be fun to bring Jude along. That meant bringing our 8-month-old out to a restaurant and then from store to store while I shopped and tried clothes on. It sounded like fun, but deep down,... At almost 9-months-old, my son Jude is active, inquisitive and adventurous. I've also found another adjective to describe him lately - trouble-maker. Okay, maybe that's a bit harsh. He's the sweetest little guy in the world, he just wants to get his hands on anything and everything in his reach no matter what that is. The power cord to the laptop, the dog's water, the curtains - it doesn't matter the object, Jude wants it. At this stag... My son Jude is ready to walk. At least in his mind he is, his body is not quite there yet. I think he's strong enough to do it, but he lacks a little bit of balance. That's okay, I mean, he's only 8-months-old, and I'm in no hurry for walking. That kid gets into enough trouble as it is! But since Jude thinks he's ready to walk, he has decided to move on from crawling and try as hard as he can to walk. He pulls up on absolutely everyth... Father's Day is this weekend, and honestly, I have no clue what to get my husband. This is Ryan's (my husband) first official Father's Day. I was pregnant last year on this holiday, so I got him something small. But this year, it's the real deal! Ryan is really a dad this year, and he is an awesome one!!! So what do you buy the first-time super dad? I don't know...really, I don't! He wants a new guitar pedal. Really? How sentimental is... It's funny how your perspective on life changes when you become a mom. Before my venture into motherhood, I considered myself an adult, but deep down I knew that if I needed mommy and daddy's help, I still had them to back me up. Don't get me wrong that's still the case, my parents still have my back, but now I have to have someone else's...my son Jude. Last week we had day after day of thunderstorms. I am terrified of lightning! I mea... We decided to give my almost 8-month-old son Jude his first taste of summer this weekend. We took him to Nana and Pop-Pop's (my parents) house to have his first encounter with the swimming pool. Jude loves splashing in the bathtub so I knew he would enjoy this too. The water was still too cold for him to get all the way in, so we just let him stand on the top step and splash around. He loved it! It made for some pretty cute pictures, too! ...I know this is a little belated, but I hope everyone had a fun and safe Memorial Day. Ours was busy, as every holiday is. After I got off work here at the station, my husband, my son Jude and I hit the first of the 2 BBQ's we had to go to. We went to my mother-in-laws first where Jude got to play with his cousin Rowan. Rowan will turn 1 next month so he's about 3 1/2 months older than Jude. It's so fun to see the boys playing together ... Last week I told you that my 7-month-old son Jude is crawling. Boy is he fast now! But that's not what this blog is about. It's about this:
My world has changed...again! My 7-month-old son Jude is officially crawling. He did the scooting for awhile, then he started getting on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth, and then one day it just happened. He started crawling. I mean, we're talking full speed, tummy-off-the-floor crawling. It was so exciting, and then I realized...my kid is mobile. Yikes! Life just got a little more interesting! He can now get into everything...a... |
