I had the opportunity to ride on one of the floats in the parade last night. It was a ton of fun! The festivities began with a procession led by Joia (pronounced joy-uh), the Mardi Gras Band. So a new young professional(yp) group was born. It's called Spectrum and is the yp group of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri. Now that the big Mardi Gras weekend is over, things are slowing down a bit. There's still quite an interesting selection to choose from this week. I'll be riding on one of the floats in the Fat Tuesday parade so I'll be sure to let you know how that goes. And although I've never been to the rodeo despite my southern roots, I'm going to check it out Friday night. I'll be sure to write about that one as well. Have a great week!

There are clearly lots of Valentine's themed events but with Mardi Gras right around the corner, there are lots of Mardi Gras events too! I'm going to be checking out opening night of Spring Awakening Tuesday night, so expect to get a full report on Wednesday. I have no idea what to expect but I hear it's for mature audiences only. It is a diverse group of young professionals ages 20s - 40s. Its mission is to enhance the life and vitality of the Library by supporting its programs and building relationships with others who share a passion for the Library's work. Here's something else I bet you didn't know: the Library has ...

I was happy to learn that Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (OTSL) seems a lot more approachable. I'm going to have to go now! OTSL is a national company, known for it's spring festival of productions showcasing the best young singers in America, acc... Well, the groundhog saw his shadow this morning...6 more weeks of winter! Maybe that's why the event options are a little on the slim side this week.
