Don't you just love this time of year?!?! The weather is cooperating (well, at least half the time) and all the outdoor parties and festivals are starting to appear with more frequency on the calendar! I'll be out of town much of the week...but if I was here, I'd certainly be hitting up Parties In The Park Wednesday night in Clayton, one of the premier events of the summer! Kim Massie, one of my St. Louis favorites will be performing too making it even more of a can't miss event. But if you can't make Wednesday, she's at Twilight Tuesdays this week too. There are tons of other things to choose from...read on for details and have fun!

Tuesday May 12:

Fuel Happy Hour at Rigazzi's, 6pm. 4945 Daggett, The Hill. Mix & mingle with FUEL members and enjoy complimentary appetizers. At 6:30 there will be a brief presentation about upcoming volunteer opportunities.

Twilight Tuesday at the Missouri History Museum, 6:30pm. Free outdoor concert at 6:30pm. Kim Massie to perform.

Shoshanna appearance at The Little Black Dress. 2:30-6:00pm at 9793 Clayton Rd. Open to the public but appointments and RSVPs are required to 314-993-6060. Shoshanna will be giving special styling tips from her latest in dress and swimwear collections. Casual cocktails and light hors d'oeuvres.

May 12-24:

A Chorus Line at the Fox Theatre.

Wednesday May 13:

Parties In The Park at Shaw Park (intersection of Brentwood & Forsyth). 5-8pm. Kim Massie to perform.

Thursday May 14:

Corks For A Cause. 5:30-8:30pm at The Boulevard, Richmond Heights. Beer and wine tasting event to support Angels' Arms, a local charity that provides loving foster homes to St. Louis area children in need. Your admission also includes a variety of hors d' ouerves, as well as live music. $25 in advance, $35 at the door.

Midwest Mayhem 2009. 7 p.m. at the City Museum - 701 N. 15th St. Four stages house a music lineup consisting of funk, blues, alternative and rockabilly.

Bowling For Rhinos. 6-9pm at Tropicana Lanes, 7960 Clayton Rd. $25 or $5 if you don't want to bowl. The evening of bowling, raffles and a silent auction will support rhinoceros conservation programs.

Friday May 15:

3rd Friday Open House. 6 p.m. at Third Degree Glass Factory - 5200 Delmar Blvd. An evening of hot glass, typewriters, and hip-hop techno-music. See Typewriter Tim pour glass through typewriters. Make a paperweight - only $30 - or spring glass tile keepsake for $20. Techno tunes begin at 8 p.m. Third Degree East Gallery presents Third Type: The Works and Performance Art of Typewriter Tim with drawings, prints and glass-poured typewriter sculptures. Free, cash bar.

Parties at the Park. 6 p.m. at Fairmount Park - 9301 Collinsville Road, Collinsville, IL. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the races begin at 7:30 p.m. Your $11 ticket includes admission into the park, buffet and drink specials.

Saturday May 16:

Connect With A Purpose, 10a-2p. Volunteer for one of the many organizations that are members of the Connect With... young professionals collaborative. Then join together for a BBQ in Tower Grove Park. The BBQ will feature all the Connect With... member organizations that support social service non-profits in our community who are really making a difference.

Ready, Set, Go! 5k Run/Walk at Tower Grove Park. 9am.

1st Annual Macklind Days Festival, 11a-8p. Macklind Avenue from Devonshire to Nottingham. Event showcasing unique and flavorful foods, shops and services. Multi-cultural entertainment ranging from Folk to Rock & Roll music and dance styles from around the world.

Emerging Artists music festival. Washington Avenue between 19th and 20th streets. 3-8pm. $5 advance, $10 door.

Bark In The Park- 10 a.m. 3 p.m. at Cricket Field in Forest Park. Walk starts at 11 a.m. Dogs, games, interactive activities, face painting, an inflatable play area and live bluegrass music. Feast on country-style BBQ.
