Hey guys! Hope you all had a fantastic Easter! Now that the weather is starting to improve (finally!), the events are starting to pick up as well. There are great choices most every day this week. It might be a great time to check out some of the outdoor events on Thursday and Friday since the weather looks to be fantastic (as of now at least). Enjoy!

Tuesday April 14:

Fuel 4th Anniversary Party w/Mayor Francis G. Slay, 6pm at Frazer's Brown Bag. 1811 Pestalozzi, right across the highway from the AB Brewery. There will be complimentary appetizers, drink specials and music as well as a presentation by Mayor Francis Slay at 6:30pm. $10 cover.

Iron Fork 2009, 6-9pm at The Ritz Carlton. This chef competition event benefits the St. Louis area foodbank. General Admission is $35 and includes 3 complimentary sponsor drinks and unlimited restaurant sampling.

Wednesday April 15:

Code Smile. 6-8pm at Amini's Home Rugs & Game Room (2nd level). 17377 Chesterfield Airport Road. This is an event for parents and young adults to discuss the social pressures that families face today. Celebrity speakers will touch on topics from weight and health issues to popularity. RSVP to smile@cheresseink.com by April 14. Free admission.

Thursday April 16:

Party In The Plaza, 5-8pm at Westport Plaza Village. This year the Party is finally going to be "IN" the Plaza and NOT in the parking lot. Event goers will be able to freely walk around the village (in the designated event area) with food and drinks, while listening to two live bands. Many of the Westport Plaza restaurants and bars are participating.

Thursday April 16-Monday April 20:

Loyal Earth Festival 2009 in downtown St. Louis. 5 days of music and art to celebrate our planet. 30+ artists, 2 stages, live art, vendors, fire dancers and more.

Friday April 17:

Third Friday Open House at the Third Degree Glass Factory - 5200 Delmar Blvd. Free, cash bar. Glass activities and entertainment from 6 - 10 p.m. Glassblowing and flameworking demonstrations, glass art by Third Degree artists for sale in the HotShop Gift Gallery, live music, and art exhibits in the Third Degree East Gallery.

Friday & Saturday April 17-18:

Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival

Saturday April 18:

Contemporary Art Museum's 5th Anniversary Gala at the Four Season's Hotel, 6:30pm. Don't miss the most fabulous, elegant, and contemporary night of the year! The event is Black-Tie.

Variety's 6th annual Parade, 10:00am Downtown - Union Station. Line the streets to see marching bands, floats, giant balloons, fire engines and mascots. Afterward, attend the party at Aloe Plaza, just north of Union Station.

Sunday April 19:

A Tasteful Affair, 2-5pm at The Chase Park Plaza. $50 in advance, $60 at the door Calling all game show junkies and foodies! Food Outreach's biggest annual event's theme this year is "Let's Make a Meal" featuring game-show themed entertainment and goodies. Event includes raffles, silent and live auctions and over 35 restaurants and caterers serving delicious fare.
