The holidays are finally over and time to get back into a routine! For me that means getting back to the gym and getting out to more events. Of course over the holidays there wasn't a whole lot going on, at least events wise. It's still a little slow, but I've got a few good ideas for you this week...check it out! Tuesday January 6: Twelfth Night at Johnny's Restaurant in Soulard, 5:30 p.m. This is the traditional beginning of Mardi Gras, twelve nights after Christmas. Hear the reading of the proclamation on the steps of Johnny's followed by a musical procession ending at the corner of 7th and Soulard where the Soulard Mardi Gras flag will rise and fireworks will signal the official start of the Mardi Gras season! Thursday January 8: Schlafly Aleympic games. For seven weeks twenty-one local bars will be playing host to the 2009 Games. Participants will win prizes and be given the opportunity to compete for Aleympic Gold after the Mardi Gras parade in Soulard. Tonight is the first of the events, from 7-9pm at one of the following establishments: The Good Pie, O' Leary's or D's Place.
