October 6 - 12 Here is my weekly list of fun things to do in and around the St. Louis area. There aren't a ton of options during the workweek. Maybe no one wanted to plan an event opposite Fashion Week? That's the biggie this week. I've never been and plan to check it out. What to wear?!?!? A sustainable "green" fashion event features St. Louis' top up-and-coming designers and an innovative recycled fashion show by Goodwill. VIP reception: 6pm; Doors: 7pm. Location: Contemporary Art Museum, 3750 Washington Ave., St. Louis Fashion Week, CURRENT Fashion Show: featuring Meghan Fabulous & Silver Dagger. VIP reception at HoteLumière: 6pm; Doors: 7pm. Thursday October 9: St. Louis Fashion Week, SURFACE Fashion Show: featuring Miacro, Wrath Arcane & Humanity For All. VIP reception at HoteLumière: 6pm; Doors: 7pm. Friday October 10: St. Louis Fashion Week, LIQUID STYLE Fashion Show: Featuring Dillard's top designers. VIP reception at HoteLumière: 6pm; Doors: 7pm. Location: Lumière Place Casino & Hotels, 999 2nd Ave., Downtown. AFTER-PARTY @ Sleek (In Lumiere) at 10pm. Sci-Fest '08, International Science Festival. Saturday October 11: St. Louis Fashion Week, FLOW: WASHINGTON AVENUE OUTDOOR RUNWAY SHOW. The world premiere of Apple Bottoms by Nelly, Red Label & U. C. Me by Murphy Lee & Kyjuan. VIP reception: 6pm; Doors: 7pm. Location: Washington Ave between 13th & 14th. AFTER-PARTY Sci-Fest '08, International Science Festival. Super Science Quiz Show at 8PM presented by the Young Friends of the St. Louis Science Center. Saint Louis Science Center - May Hall - 5050 Oakland Ave. You can test your science knowledge against the lecture scientists themselves. Expect a head-to-head match up between the US and the UK, moderated by comedians, actively encouraging audience participation. Audience members can win big and small prizes for knowledge and/or creativity in absence of knowledge. Cash bar available. SpaTACULAR, 5-9PM at Ginger Bay Salon & Spa benefiting Annie's Hope. Sunday October 12: Sci-Fest '08, International Science Festival. BLUEGRASS HOEDOWN at Schlafly Bottleworks from 12pm-6pm.
