Here is my weekly list of fun things to do in and around the St. Louis area.

While fall has arrived, the weather continues to be very summer-like. Get out there and enjoy it because the cold can't be too far away!

There are lots of fun food and wine events this week. We've got the St. Louis Wine Festival, the Taste of St. Louis and Young Variety's Taste of the Vineyard event. There are also opportunities to take in an outdoor movie or a concert in the park. For details on all these and more, read on!


Tuesday 9/23:

Metropolis Wine Club, 6:30pm-8:30pm. Vino Vitae Gourmet Wine Shop, 1637 South 18th Street. $10 per person covers the tasting of wine, beer and food. RSVP required by Monday, September 22, 2008 at 5:00 pm. If you miss the deadline, contact suzannemoak@yahoo.com.

Wednesday 9/24:

The Crescent Block Party, 6-9 pm at Carondelet Plaza. Complimentary appetizers, drink specials and music.

Lipstick Jungle Premiere Party. 6-10PM @ Miso on Meramec.

Thursday 9/25:

Fresh Faces and Top Models Launch Party at Mandarin-8PM. $5 at the door to benefit Heat-Up St. Louis.

Friday 9/26:

Lafayette Square Community Happy hour- from 4-7pm around Fountain Square to benefit Stray Rescue.

Bacchus at the Basin, 6:30-8:30pm at the base of art hill. This is a preview party for the St. Louis Wine Festival. Regional wines, appetizers and live music. $50.

Friday - Sunday 9/26-9/28

Taste of St. Louis - Downtown, 12th & Market.

Saturday 9/27:

Chili Cook off from 11a-7p at Westport Plaza.

Dancing In The Street, Grand Center from 12pm-9pm. Street festival celebrating the opening of the fall arts season. Dance performances, gallery walk, food and drink vendors.

Young Variety's Taste of the Vineyard 2008 at Third Degree Glass Factory, 5200 Delmar, 7-10pm, $40.

Outdoor movie - Lafayette Square. Raiders of the Lost Ark starts at sunset.

Saturday & Sunday 9/27-9/28:

St. Louis Wine Festival - Forest Park Grand Basin. Vendors will pour samples of more than 200 wines, plus local food and music. Saturday Noon-7pm; Sunday Noon-6pm.

Sunday 9/28:

Musical Nights in Oak Knoll Park - Big Bend & Clayton. 5-7pm. Music: Broth'a D & the WOO Daddies
