November 2008 ArchivesI don't know Albert Pujols very well. But, I know he is a tough guy. And I'm happy that a guy who plays through pain and injury and works as hard as he does is rewarded with the MVP--especially in this day and age of the spoiled, pampered athlete. Pujols has produced the most impressive first eight seasons in Major League history. The talent and numbers are undeniable. But he's done it with a chronically bad elbow and a variety of othe... ***Congrats and thank you to all U.S. military veterans. We more or less take this holiday for granted and that's a shame. I'm grateful to all who have served in times of peace and war. ***I'm glad the Ryan Ludwick for Matt Holliday deal fell through. Holliday is a nice player but his numbers will tumble significantly away from Coors Field. And I don't want Ludwick traded. If he is dealt, it has to be for a top line starter or closer ... Believe it or not after the "Massacre at the Meadowlands" there is hope for the Rams in 2009. Look no further than the team that massacred the Rams to find the proof. Last season, the Jets were as big a mess as the Rams and finished 4-12. Now, after nine games in 2008, the Jets are 6-3 and in first place. And the turnaround was made by adding four or five new starters. Granted, two of those starters are future Hall of Famers in Brett F... It was an ugly day at the Dome. The Rams regressed after three straight weeks of improvement. They did not fight through adverse developments the way they did in October. Marc Bulger will get pounded, especially with Kurt Warner leading his team to the win. And Bulger deserves his share tonight but he's the only guy some fans in this town will talk about. On a day when the Rams running game was completely non--existent and the defense... |
