February 2008 ArchivesThe Rams have done what they had to do--keep Leonard Little around. Jim Thomas of the Post first reported that the team and Leonard have reached agreement to restructure his contract. The Rams had to have more cap room and they have to count on Little returning in '08. Yes, he had a terribly subpar year in '07 and he's a year older. So, yes, it's a bit of a gamble to hope that Little is worth the 6 million he'll count against the salary cap. B... The Cardinals' spring has opened with a thud with the news of Scott Spiezio's release. The Cards had little choice really. Spiezio was on a short leash following last summer's hiatus for substance abuse help. The truth is Spiezio might not have made the team anyway. His performance last season paled in comparison to his output in 2006. Whether that was due to substance abuse or not, it's a bottom line league. I'll say this, the behavi... This off-season for the Rams is, to this point, reminding me of the events early in 1999. For starters, the Rams previous seasons were both messes and the team needed an overhaul. Like 1999, John Shaw has been very active in directing change. Dick Veremil was coerced into firing coaches then and Scott Linehan was told to re-tool now. Mike Martz was the coordinator that came on board in 1999. Now, it's Al Saunders who runs a version of... Police in Columbia say that Stephon Hannah and Jason Horton were involved in two earlier fights that resulted in gunfire. Disturbing news considering that one of the incidents--at a convenience store--occurred after Mike Anderson imposed a curfew and a zero tolerance policy.
