January 2008 ArchivesI've had some time to analyze the hire of Al Saunders as offensive coordinator and I can't find a lot of negatives. For starters, he has credibility and a proven track record. In his days in K.C., the Chiefs offense was ranked number one in the league in several categories from 2002 to 2005. And the common thread between those teams and the current Rams is the presence of a franchise running back. In K.C. it was Priest Holmes and here it's Ste... I didn't know Georgia Frontiere well at all but most of what I did know was from talking with Jack Snow. Above all, she valued loyalty from her employees and was loyal in return. Jack had a job as long he wanted one and John Shaw and Jay Zygmunt each have more than 26 years with the Rams. In my opinion, Georgia should be remembered fondly in these parts. For starters, she brought NFL football back to her hometown. And, she delivered S... I bounced back from a .500 handicapping weekend in the wild card round with a three for four effort this week. The one game I missed I missed big. I thought the Chargers were the one road team that had no chance this weekend. Wrong. Dead wrong. What makes that win really impressive is the fact that both Phillip Rivers and Ladanian Tomlinson were on the sideline with injuries in the fourth quarter. It may have been the final game for Colts Head... I'm only batting .500 after week one of the NFL playoffs. I called the Seattle and San Diego wins but missed on the Giants and Jags victories. First, kudos to Tom Coughlin. I believed the Giants' brass was setting him up for certain failure by bringing him back in 2007. He did a great job of rallying his team from an 0-2 start. His team looked far more prepared than Jon Gruden's team today. Coughlin played his starters last week agains... |
