May 2007 ArchivesAre you kidding me? Josh Hancock's family is suing multiple parties for his death? I may be revealing a certain naivete here but I am appalled. I can only hope that the parties named in the suit take a stand, refuse to cave, and do not agree to a settlement. It would reaffirm my faith in the judicial system to have a judge or jury throw this suit right out of court. The lawsuit claims that Hancock's "intoxication was involuntary." Th... I'm moved today to write this blog by a letter to the editor in the sports section of Sunday's Post-Dispatch. I'll offer my views using a civil, respectful tone. I have grown tired of all the ranting, raving and name calling by so called members of the media when someone disagrees with their position. My comments are in response to the last line in the letter: "Does it really matter what the toxicology report says?" (with regard to th... Letter grades for drafts the day after it's over? Among the dumbest things we do in the sportscasting business. That's way too early to draw conclusions. Instead, I'll offer observations. What I like about what Scott Linehan's regime has done in two drafts is to address needs and not reach on guys. That's at least a start. Last year, number one pick Tye Hill became a starter and so did second round pick Joe Klopfenstein and seventh round selec... The more we find out about the hours and days leading up to Josh Hancock's death the more it seems he had some issues with alcohol (and perhaps marijuana which we have confirmed was in his car at the time of his accident). The toxicology report may be released as early as Friday. That should tell us how compromised Hancock may have been at the time of the accident. It's a tough situation to report on.
