I'm often asked about my favorite game or athlete I've covered or the best day I've had in my 17 years in this business. So, occasionally I'll share my favorites and/or least favorites in this space. My five most memorable days I've had in sportscasting: ONCE AGAIN I APPLAUD THE CARDINALS FOR NOT OVERPAYING FOR A FREE AGENT. Jeff Weaver was 3-10 with a 6.29 era for the Angles last summer before being picked up by the Cardinals. The Cardinals continue to show the kind of restraint that allows them to be consistently competitive. After all, the Cards have been in the post season six of the past seven seasons and have won the pennant in two of the last three seasons. Last year, some fans were scr... TIS THE SEASON...FOR A NEW SPECIAL TEAMS COACH. Larry Pasquale, Bobby April, Mike Stock, and now Bob Ligasheshky. All hired and fired since Frank Gansz left with Dick Vermeil following the 1999 season. The Rams return units have been consistently ineffective under the aforementioned coaches. But, I thought the coverage units moderately improved under Ligasheshky. Scott Linehan thinks he can do better. Let's hope so. This story is getting old. ... Now that the dust has settled on the 2006 season, let's look back at what went right and wrong for the Rams. THE GOOD--Closing the season on a three game winning streak gives me reason for optimism in 2007. The Rams were an explosive football team down the stretch, averaging 171 yards rushing and 415 total yards per game in those final three. Yes, Steven Jackson got better as the season went along.
