September 2006 ArchivesSurprised by the Rams' 2-1 start? A lot of people nationally are. Most don't consider the Rams legit. I can understand the skepticism and I hope it continues. For a change, the Rams are flying under the radar. The Rams will have to win their next two to get to 4-1 before they're taken seriously. Comparing 2006 numbers to those of 2005 reveals the reasons behind the Rams 2-1 record. This season, the Rams are plus seven in the turnover... Not only is Monster Park the dump of the NFL, it also brings out the worst in the Rams. Sunday, a very winnable game got away. It's already clear that Scott Linehan is tiring of answering questions about his offense. I will say this---he was on the money with a point he made Monday. The Rams had lots of problems offensively and otherwise in 2005. That's why he's here. The Rams offense was 19th in red zone production and 21st in third down ef... The Rams special teams were very good in Sunday's win against Denver. What a difference a year makes. Chris Johnson got the 2005 season off on the wrong foot by fielding the kickoff and stepping out of bounds at the one yard line at San Francisco. The Rams enjoyed great field position Sunday because of turnovers and special teams play. What a luxury for Scott Linehan to have a kicker like Jeff Wilkins and punter like Matt Turk. Speaki... |
