DTV DELAY ( AND HOW TO GET RID OF AN OLD TV)

A number of people are asking why KMOV and all the local stations didn't just go ahead and turn off our analog signals on Feb. 17th. Congress agreed we could, and apparently about 500 stations across the country went ahead as scheduled, including KDNL here in St. Louis. KMOV and other stations agreed to maintain their analog signals because Nielson estimates there are thousands of people who would lose their only connection...

It's official - the deadline for the conversion to Digital TV has been delayed until June. Now you get to hear 4 more months of those annoying commercials, and of course, endless blathering by me! :) Here's the official story:

Things are still up in the air as I write this, with Congress considering another vote on delaying the switch to DTV on February 17th. Some stations - NOT KMOV - apparently plan to make the switch on February 17th, regardless of the decision by our legislators.
