Police responded to a shooting at 1010 Sycamore in East St. Louis just before 2 am. Upon arrival they discovered a 3- year-old boy shot in the hand and a 48-year-old man shot in the back. The adult victim told police he was in his home when an intruder kicked opened his door and began firing. At this time police have no suspects. Both victims are expected to recover.

BROOKLYN, Ill. (AP) -- A shootout in the parking lot of a southern Illinois strip club has left one man wounded and five in jail.
Brooklyn police Chief Delbert Marion says the shooting happened early Saturday outside the Bottoms Up Nightclub.
One man was shot and wounded and was transported to an area hospital. Police have not released his condition.

St. Louis City police are investigating two overnight carjackings. The first occurred in the 4100 block of Kossuth just before 2 am. ST. MARTINS, Mo. (AP) -- Authorities have charged a 15-year-old with first-degree murder for the death of 9-year-old girl in central Missouri.
Cole County Juvenile Court Administrator Michael Couty said Saturday that the 15-year-old is being detained for the death of Elizabeth Olten. Police did not release the teen's gender or name.

A 24 year old man was shot and is in critical condition at an area hospital. The incident took place at about 7:50 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of North Tucker in downtown St. Louis. The victim was in a vehicle with friends traveling north on Tucker when another vehicle pulled along side them and began firing shots. The victim was shot in the head. Shortly before 8 am a fire broke out at the Rivercrest apartments located at 7077 Nottingham in Shrewsbury. All residents were able to escape the building without injury. The fire quickly reached 3 alarms. Fire crews from St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Webster Groves, Maplewood, Richmond Heights, Affton and Kirkwood all assisted Shrewsbury. Police are looking for a 23 year old Robert F. Lash in connection with an early morning homicide that occurred in Mt Vernon, Illinois. Lash is a black male, approx. 6'3, 210 pounds. He is thought to be driving a maroon colored 1981 Oldsmobile coupe. Authorities believe he could be headed torward Carbondale. Anyone with information is asked to call the Mt. Authorities are investigating a death on the Metrolink tracks near Route 161 and Dutch Hollow Road in Belleville. At around 7:30 a man was struck and killed after he walked out in front of a westbound train. Investigators are not sure why the victim was on the tracks to begin with. The man's identity is not being released. Authorities are speculating this may have been a suicide.

Shortly before 1:30 this morning East St. Louis Police responded to a shooting at the intersection of 15th and Lynch. Upon arrival they found a deceased black female shot in the chest. The victim has been identified as 30 year old Keyatia Gibson from the 1000 block of North 14th Street in East St.Louis. The Venice Police Department received a call of a shooting on September 5, 2009 at approximately 2:10 a.m. in the rear of a residence located at 1003 Market Street, Venice, Illinois. The shooting resulted in the death of Chaunicie E. Dukes, age 24, from Granite City, Illinois. Dukes was found shot outside the residence. Numerous shots were fired during this incident.
