Fatal ax St. Charles County

The Missouri Highway Patrol confirms they're working a fatal car accident near the intersection of highway DD and Diehr road west of the Busch Conservation area in St, Charles County. Details of the wreck are still sketchy, but it happened around 8 tonight and at least one person has been fatally injured. There are no details on how many vehicles may have been involved or the circumstances. More as it becomes available.

Sounds like there may be some trouble with metrolink. maplewood fire is on the scene at the sunnen station near big bend and manchester where a train pulled into the station belching smoke. power has been shut down at that station and the train has been safely evacuated. Alton- Woman accused of killing mother, hiding body

GODFREY, Ill. (AP) -- An Alton woman is jailed on $1 million bond after being accused of killing her 86-year-old mother, then hiding the carpet-wrapped body under a wood pile in the dead woman's garage.

Madison County prosecutors charged 60-year-old Marsha Zahn with first-degree murder and concealment of a homicidal death.

Pike County- Skeletal remains found date back to 1992

ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Authorities believe skeletal remains found in Pike County, Mo., are those of a person who went missing in 1992.

A man doing excavation work found the remains Sunday a few miles from Elsberry in Pike County, near the Lincoln County line.

Sheriff Jim Wells says the remains are those of an adult but declined to speculate further. He says forensic work to identify the remains could take some time.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A suburban Philadelphia travel agent is charged with stealing nearly $200,000 in tour payments and spending the money on clothes and QVC purchases.
Officials in Montgomery County say most of Frances Balshan's victims were senior citizens interested in an African safari.

Near O'Fallon, IL: Major Case Squad investigating homicide

(KMOV) -- Late Sunday night the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department activated the Major Case Squad to investigate a homicide that they are calling "highly suspicious."

Today police identified the 46-year-old victim, a black male, as Blake Harvey. Investigators are now saying that it appears Harvey was strangled to death.

Cedar Hill: Man accused of with raping 12-year-old neighbor

(KMOV)- A Cedar Hill man is facing charges he raped a 12 year old neighbor.

Deputies said the teen was assaulted at 10:30 p.m. in the victim's residence by David Rivera, 51, who was described as a family friend.

The next morning police were called.

Rivera remains in jail on a $250,000 cash only bond.

Hannibal: Man killed trying to help woman

HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) -- A Hannibal man is dead after reportedly trying to stop two men from attacking a female.
His alleged assailants face charges of second-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and kidnapping.
The victim is 45-year-old Rodney Wood. The suspects, 22-year-old David Ater and 21-year-old Nathan Stice, both of Hannibal, are jailed on $500,000 bond.

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A Potosi doctor has been convicted of filing false claims to Medicaid and over-prescribing medicines to his patients.
A federal jury yesterday found that Dr. Seth Paskon prescribed drugs outside the usual course of medical practice or without a legitimate medical purpose.
