News release from the US Attorney's office St. Louis, MO: Cesar Anaya-Luna pleaded guilty to federal immigration charges, Acting United States Attorney Michael W. Reap announced today. Anaya-Luna was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for a traffic violation near Ste. Genevieve, MO, on March 6, 2009. Anaya-Luna, 40, an illegal alien from Mexico, pleaded guilty to re-entering the United States after being previously deported today before United States District Judge E. Richard Webber. Luna now faces a maximum penalty of ten years in prison. when he is sentenced in July 2009. Reap commended the work on the case by the Missouri Highway Patrol, the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and Assistant United States Attorney Fred Dana, who is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney's Office. |
