Belleville Police news release

Armed Robbery arrests made; the Belleville Police Department has investigated two Armed Robbery, and one Robbery reports which were made on May 30th & 31st, and June 5, 2009.

The May 30 Armed Robbery was reported at approximately 12:57am. The victim advised that he had been walking in the 1000 block of East B St when he was approached by a female who asked for directions to Chicago. As he was directing her toward the highway two males walked up and asked for a cigarette. As he began attempting to retrieve the cigarette the subjects grabbed him from behind taking him to the ground where he was beaten and items were stolen from him. He then walked downtown where he called police and made the report.

The May 31 Armed Robbery was reported at approximately 12:09am. The victim advised that he was walking in the area of East "D" and Court St. when he observed three males and a female approach him also on foot. The suspects knocked him to the ground and struck him with a club or bat and took personal items from him. The victim continued to the area of the 300 block of N. Jackson where he called the police and made the report.

The June 5 Robbery was reported at approximately 12:15am. The police were initially sent to the area of East "B" and Douglas for a report of a man down. Upon arrival officers found the victim near B and Pennsylvania streets. The victim advised that when he was walking near B and Douglas he was approached by three males who asked him for directions to Main St. The subjects then knocked him to the ground and stole items from him. The subjects then fled on foot. Officers were informed that three males were seen running to a vehicle driven by a female on East "B" street that left the area near the same time as the robbery. Officers began searching for a vehicle that met the description from witnesses and observed it on the lot of Quick Trip on Lebanon Ave. The occupants matched the description of the suspects and all four were taken into custody.

Further investigation was conducted and the four suspects were charged as follows.

Juan A. Garcia w/m 5-22-90 18 Rulewood Collinsville, IL two counts Armed Robbery (May 30 & 31) both class X felonies, one count Robbery (June 5) class 2 felony. Bail is set at $200,000.00.

Chase A. Schwent w/m 9-26-89 18 Rulewood Collinsville, IL two counts Armed Robbery (May 30 & 31) both class X felonies, one count Robbery (June 5) class 2 felony. Bail is set at $200,000.00.

Jeremy T. Burch b/m 11-21-86 6007 Bond Ave Centreville, IL one count Armed Robbery (May 31) a class X felony and one count Robbery (June 5) a class 2 felony. Bail is set at $200,000.00.

Natalia G. Trigg w/f 11-14-87 1222 Constance Collinsville, IL one count Armed Robbery (May31) a class X felony and one count Robbery (June 5) a class 2 felony. Bail is set at $200,000.00.
