St. Louis: Execution date set for Reginald Clemons

4:20 PM Mon, May 18, 2009 |

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The Missouri Supreme Court has set an execution date of June 17 for Reginald Clemons, who was convicted 15 years ago in the deaths of two young sisters shoved off an abandoned Mississippi River bridge in St. Louis.

The execution date was announced Monday as the state was preparing for its first execution in nearly four years. Dennis Skillicorn is scheduled to die by injection at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday for killing Excelsior Springs businessman Richard Drummond in 1994.

Clemons was among four men convicted in the deaths of 21-year-old Julie Kerry and her 19-year-old sister, Robin. Both were pushed from the old Chain of Rocks Bridge in 1991.

Supporters believe Clemons is innocent. He confessed -- but supporters say he did so only after being beaten by police.

May God have mercy on his soul for such evil acts. In such an advanced society as ours is it really prudent to take one life for another. WWJD

The girls are not dead. They are believed to have ran off; because they were supposely being sexually abuse by their father. They are reported as missing. They are posted on missingkids.org
Why would they put dead people on missingkids.org?
This should have been a mistrial and the jury should have been sequesterd during the trial. There is a lot of misinformation in this case that have not been released to the public. If I was the parent I would sue the first set of attys; who walked out on the case a week and half before the court date. This case is example of how prejudice the State of Missouri is to minorities. Killing guiltless people to say that they won a case. How sad!

Elizabeth, Julie's body was found three weeks later, and he CONFESSED. however I think it's ridiculous 2 get the death penalty, one gets life and the other is already out on parole. that's just not right.

Instead of injecting him, lets throw him from the bridge, if he survives, then all you people who thinks he should spend the rest of his life in jail with no parole,, then you pay for his cost of incarcation about $40,000 per year,
What a scumbag, JUSTICE FOR THE KERRY GIRLS

Im not sure about the entire case but what I read is very much unjustly and he need to see some real day light.I feel he is wrongly accused and he should be spared a pardon for his freedomly. If he was beaten to admitt something he was not apart of the he should be free with money for time served.I don't think a person saying over and over I didn't do it it must be some truth to what he is saying.Jay Nixon needs to hear him and stop using the tax payers money for his leisure alone with his family.I know thats no apart of it but we all know he is not doing what he should be doing in office either.Set this man free.
