The forecast we produce here in the 4 Warm Storm Center is distributed to newspapers, radio stations and even other TV stations. It's a unique challenge for us and one we take very seriously. This year our responsibilities have b... I think we'll see some thunderstorms on Friday mainly from metro St. Louis westward. But my forecast focus most of this week has been another potent cold front on track to push through here late Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms are likely along and ahead of the front and some of the storms could be severe late Saturday into Saturday night. The good news is the air behind this front, once again, is a little drier and a little cooler... I doubt you've ever heard me refer to "Global Warming" on TV. That doesn't mean I don't address global climate though. I prefer to refer to it as "Climate Change". I'm no expert on it but I have attended several confrences that focused on the changing climate of our planet. In fact more and more meteorological conferences over the past few years have dedicated much of their content to Climatology. In a nutshell here's my thoughts: ...These are never easy. All of us in the 4 Warn Storm Center have been pondering this holiday forecast for over a week now. Since we went to a 7-day forecast it adds just a little more pressure when we approach a holiday. Especially a warm season holiday that is so dependent on outdoor activities.
