Steve here in the weather center, and I'm sitting here wondering if there is yet another cool down on deck for us? Or can I count on warmer planting and grilling weather? Well, the next 2 weeks look a lot closer to normal, which is upper 60s to near 70. This week we will experience a cool down Wednesday and Thursday, but then warm back up for the weekend. This cool down should bring us temperatures near 60, much warmer than our last cool down. I was looking at some of the long term forecast projections, and the pattern looks typical of Spring, no major cold in sight. The climate prediction center even put the St. Louis area in a 40%-50% chance of above normal temperatures for the last week of April. With the temperatures rebounding to more near normal or even above normal levels, that means our attention will turn to chances for severe weather. It looks like thunderstorms are possible Sunday afternoon, with a chance of severe weather. However, it's way to early to count on that forecast, but it's certainly the next day to watch for the chance of storms.
