Man puts moose carcass ad on Craigslist

Need to rid yourself of that unwanted moose carcass in your life? That's not a very nice thing to say about your roommate.

Oh wait, you're serious? OK. Check Craigslist.

An Anchorage man did just that earlier this month after a yearling moose took a dirt nap in his yard, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Calvin Hay called the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, thinking they'd come haul the hulking carcass away.

But he discovered that even though live moose belong to everyone, dead moose are a personal problem.

"I guess I assumed that they would come deal with it," Hay told the Tribune. "I kind of joked around a little bit; I said, wait a minute, aren't you the guys that say moose are, like, natural resources and they belong to all of us, but now that it's dead it belongs to me?"

Unsure of what to do, Hay stuck an ad for his bucket-kicking Bullwinkle on Craigslist.

"You could use it for dog food, or stuff it and put it (in) your front yard, bear bait, whatever," the ad read. "If you live in the Lower 48, this might be your best opportunity to get a free Alaska moose. I don't really care; I just want it out of my yard."

Within minutes, Hay said he got a tidal wave of queries from carcass-craving freakshows ... err ... connoisseurs.
