Calling all morons! Indiscriminately giving out one's phone number is never a bright idea. But leaving your digits at the scene of a robbery is just plain ... well ... funny. Cops in Chicago were pleased this week when a world-class, marquee ding dong left his cell phone number with employees at a muffler shop he was trying to rob, instructing them to give him a call when they could open the safe, WBBM reports. The 18-year-old baddie reportedly ran into the shop, waving a gun, declaring a robbery. But the staff told him all the cash was in the safe, and only the manager could get it out. Undeterred by the burden of a working brain, the would-be robber left his number with the staff in the hopes the manager would return, call him and invite him to continue with his plundering. Except it didn't exactly work out like that. The employees called the cops, who sent plainclothes officers to the scene. Those officers called the robber back. In a breathtaking defiance of good sense, the dude came back, waving his gun around again. This time, he got shot in the leg. TaaDaaa! Score one for the good guys.
