Millions of presents are bought each year, but some women would argue the best present they've received this Christmas is a shiny engagement ring.
Thanks to the Facebook, I know several friends and acquaintances who were proposed to sometime this week. I'm sure more are to come; they just haven't got to the Internet. Yet.

Only this could happen to me. I psyched myself up for my once-in-a-zillion years trip to Whataburger (it is really rare that I eat out for lunch), and seconds after I order, my cell rings.
Me: "Hello?"
Other person: "Hi, this is Leah at ___ ____! I'm calling to tell you that your wedding dress is in!"
Me: "... ohhh OK."
Wedding gods: 1, Adrienne: big, fat 0

The funny thing about that song is that since it's not classical or religious, I probably won't be allowed to walk down the aisle to it. First lesson of wedding planning: Assume nothing.
